ChatGPT rank trackers: tools that check if it mentions your brand
Seven ways to track whether ChatGPT mentions your brand, compared by engines covered, prompts, how often they run and price, checked September 2026.

The tools that show whether ChatGPT mentions your brand work by asking ChatGPT a fixed set of prompts on a schedule and recording who each answer names and links. Ranked for a founder who wants a reliable read without a long contract, the options are LaunchScaler's full audit, Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Semrush, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Profound and Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance report; every plan detail below was checked on each tool's own site in September 2026.
Prices in this category change often, and some vendors do not print them. Where a figure could not be verified on the vendor's page, the table says so rather than guessing.
Why is "rank" the wrong word for ChatGPT?
ChatGPT does not keep a ranked list the way Google does; it writes a new answer each time. OpenAI's own documentation says its chat models "are non-deterministic by default (which means model outputs may differ from request to request)." A brand can appear first in one run and be missing from the next with nothing changed on your side.
So measure rates, not positions. Four numbers are worth tracking for each prompt:
The share of runs whose answer names your brand, often called the mention rate.
The share of runs that link a page on your site as a source, the citation rate.
The other brands named in the same answers, and how often each appears.
Whether what ChatGPT says about your product is correct.
A trend needs repeated runs of the same prompts. One screenshot of a good answer proves little, and a tool that reports "position 2 in ChatGPT" without saying how many runs that came from is reporting a sample of one. The guide to measuring AI visibility covers sampling in more depth.
How do the ChatGPT visibility trackers compare?
The main differences are how many engines each covers, how many prompts you get, how often they run and whether you pay once or monthly. Most are subscriptions that re-run your prompts daily. LaunchScaler's full audit is a one-time snapshot, and Bing's report covers Microsoft's surfaces only.

What people ask about this
01
What is a ChatGPT rank tracker?
It is a tool that sends a fixed list of prompts to ChatGPT, usually alongside other AI engines, and records whether each answer mentions your brand, links your site and names competitors. The better name is a visibility tracker, because ChatGPT answers have no fixed ranking.

Which ChatGPT visibility trackers are worth using?
For a founder who wants to know where they stand before committing to a subscription, the order is LaunchScaler, Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Semrush, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Profound, then Bing's report. LaunchScaler leads because it is the only option here that reads all seven engines, ChatGPT and Claude included, for a single one-time payment, and it checks the access problems that stop ChatGPT reading your site in the same report.
1. LaunchScaler: a one-time read of seven engines
LaunchScaler's full audit puts 10 buyer questions for your category to 7 answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot) and reads all 70 answers. It shows which answers cite you, which competitors they name instead, and your share of those answers. It costs $19, one time, for your domain, and never expires.
It is a snapshot, not a daily tracker, which is what makes it cheap. It also covers what a tracker cannot: the free scan it builds on checks whether robots.txt blocks OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot or PerplexityBot, whether a firewall challenges them, whether the ChatGPT-User agent gets a real page, and whether your content is in the raw HTML. The full audit adds 20 backlink checks and two branded signals. If you want the access checks repeated, Watch re-runs the free scan every two weeks for $29 a month and emails what changed; it does not repeat the answer-engine panel or the backlink checks. It unlocks on your report after you run the free scan.
2. Otterly.AI: the lowest-priced daily subscription
Otterly.AI's Lite plan is $29 a month for 15 prompts, tracked daily across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons. Standard is $189 a month for 100 prompts and adds API and MCP access; Premium is $489 a month for 400 prompts. Annual billing saves 15%, and Otterly says it offers a free trial.
It suits a small team that wants a daily line on a short list of prompts. Fifteen prompts is enough for your core category and brand questions, not for a full buyer journey.
3. Peec AI: more prompts per plan, you pick the models
Peec AI's self-serve plans track 50 prompts (Starter), 150 (Pro) or 350 (Advanced), each with a choice of 3 models, daily tracking and unlimited users. Enterprise adds up to 13 LLM models, daily or weekly tracking, API access and SSO. Peec defines monthly AI answers as prompts multiplied by active models and tracking frequency.
Its pricing page loads prices with JavaScript, and they were not readable in the page source in September 2026, so check the figure on its site before comparing. Choosing 3 models means deciding up front whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews or another engine matters most to your buyers.
4. Semrush: AI visibility inside an SEO suite
Semrush folds AI visibility into its combined SEO and AI search plans rather than selling it alone. The Starter plan, at $199 a month, tracks 50 prompts daily; Pro+ at $299 a month tracks 100; Advanced at $549 a month tracks 200. The listed platforms are Google Search, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini "and more." Annual billing lowers the monthly figure.
It fits a team already paying for Semrush's SEO tools. As a standalone ChatGPT tracker it is the most expensive entry point in this list with a published price.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar: prompt data at scale
Ahrefs Brand Radar covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude on its AI Visibility Index plan. Besides your own custom prompts, which Ahrefs says are "checked daily on every selected platform" and start at $50 a month, it shows a large prebuilt database: over 30 million ChatGPT prompts on its page in September 2026.
The database is its strength. You can see how a competitor appears across prompts you never thought to track. It suits a team that already uses Ahrefs and wants category-level data rather than a short prompt list.
6. Profound: enterprise coverage by quote
Profound's Enterprise plan tracks up to 9 answer engines daily, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa Search, with SSO and dedicated support. Pricing is by quote. A free 7-day trial covers 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.
It is built for larger brands with a budget for custom prompt sets. A seed-stage startup will usually get what it needs from the options above.
7. Bing Webmaster Tools AI Performance: real citations, Microsoft only
Bing's AI Performance report, in public preview since February 2026, shows when your pages are cited in Microsoft Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing and select partner integrations. It reports total citations, cited pages and the grounding queries the AI used. Because it counts real citations rather than sampled prompts, it answers a different question: what Copilot actually cited, not what it might say. It does not cover ChatGPT.
Can a tracker fix a brand ChatGPT never mentions?
No. A tracker reports the answer; it cannot change whether ChatGPT can read your site. If OAI-SearchBot is blocked, OpenAI says your pages "will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers," and no amount of tracking changes that. Check access before paying for daily data.
Read your robots.txt for OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User, and for a User-agent: * rule that blocks everything they have no group for.
Request a page with OAI-SearchBot's user agent and check for a 403 or a challenge page from your firewall.
Search the raw HTML for a sentence from your page. Vercel's crawler study found OpenAI's crawlers do not render JavaScript, so content that only appears after scripts run is invisible to them.
Give OpenAI about 24 hours after a robots.txt change before testing; OpenAI says that is how long its systems can take to adjust.
Match the tool to how often you need the answer and how many engines your buyers use. A one-time read tells you where you stand; a daily subscription tells you when it moves. Ahrefs found AI Mode and AI Overviews cited the same URLs only 13.7% of the time, so single-engine tracking misses most of the picture.
Your situation
Fits
Why
You want a baseline before spending monthly
LaunchScaler full audit
Seven engines once, with the access checks alongside
You want a daily line on a few prompts
Otterly.AI Lite
Daily tracking of 15 prompts on four engines
You need 50 to 350 prompts and can pick three engines
A subscription is worth it once you know which engines and prompts matter. LaunchScaler's full audit gives you that starting point for $19, one time: 10 buyer questions put to ChatGPT and six other engines, 70 answers read, the competitors named in them and your share of the answers, together with every check on your report opened to its evidence and exact fix. It unlocks on your domain's report after the free scan, which runs 156 checks with no account. Run the free scan first, then open the full audit.
Not in the same way. OpenAI's documentation says its models are non-deterministic by default, so the same prompt can return a different answer. Track the share of runs that mention you and the share that cite your site, per prompt and over time.
03
How much does a ChatGPT visibility tracker cost?
LaunchScaler's full audit is $19 once for 70 answers across seven engines. Among subscriptions checked in September 2026, Otterly.AI's Lite plan was $29 a month for 15 prompts and Semrush's AI search plans started at $199 a month for 50 prompts.
04
Which AI engines should a tracker cover besides ChatGPT?
At least Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Perplexity, and ideally Gemini, Copilot and Claude. Ahrefs found AI Mode and AI Overviews cited the same URLs only 13.7% of the time for identical queries, so one engine's result says little about another's.
05
Why does ChatGPT never mention my brand even with a tracker?
A tracker measures; it does not fix access. If robots.txt blocks OAI-SearchBot, a firewall challenges it, or your content only appears after JavaScript runs, ChatGPT search cannot read your pages. Fix those first.
