LaunchScaler vs Uneed: queues, prices and links compared
Uneed's free line waits 30 days to 5 months and ties the link to upvotes; LaunchScaler ties it to a site scan. Queues, prices, links and reviews compared.

LaunchScaler and Uneed both run a daily launch board with a free queue and a paid way to pick your date, and they differ on what the free route asks of you. Uneed's free line assigns a date between 30 days and 5 months out and ties both your listing and its dofollow link to your upvote score on launch day; LaunchScaler's free launch keeps the listing permanently and ties its one dofollow link to your site passing a 156-check readiness scan.
The paid shortcuts are close in price. Uneed's Skip the line is $29.99. LaunchScaler's Premium launch is $29. Every Uneed term below was read on its pricing and how-it-works pages in September 2026, and every LaunchScaler term on its pricing page.
How do LaunchScaler and Uneed compare line by line?
The table puts the free queues and the paid shortcuts next to each other. The main differences are what decides whether the link is followed (votes on Uneed, a site scan on LaunchScaler) and what each platform checks before a product goes live.

01
How much does Uneed cost?
Joining Uneed's waiting line is free. Fast-track costs $14.99, Skip the line $29.99 and a Relaunch $15, and Uneed also sells a Public Review for $147, as its pricing page showed in September 2026.
Paid launch prices, in each platform's own terms: Uneed's Fast-track is $14.99 and Skip the line $29.99. LaunchScaler's Premium launch is $29 one-time.
How do the two free queues compare?
Both free queues cost nothing and give you a date you do not choose. The difference is the condition. Uneed's free line judges the launch by votes on the day; LaunchScaler's free launch asks for its badge on your site (or a one-time fee to skip it) and judges the link by your site's readiness, not by votes.
On Uneed, a new batch goes live every day at 12:00 AM PST, with at least 30 free launches from the waiting line plus every paid launch. When many products join the line, Uneed launches more per day rather than making the wait longer, and if every day of the next 5 months is full, the free option says so. The verdict on your listing is applied the day after launch, using your upvote score with each voter's multiplier:

What happens
20 or more
Stays published with a dofollow backlink
10 to 19
Stays published with a nofollow link
Below 10
Goes back to your dashboard and cannot join the free line again
During launch day itself, Uneed says the link is always dofollow. It also says votes from batches of accounts created at once, or from a single IP address, are flagged and removed, so a final ranking can differ from what you saw during the day.
On LaunchScaler, the free launch gives a permanent listing in category and search, an About section and pros and cons written from your own site, and a community thread, whatever the votes do. Products climb the daily board on community votes, and the readiness score on each card is measured separately and cannot be voted up or bought. The one dofollow link comes from passing the scan: "Clearing the readiness bar is what earns the followed link."
Pick Uneed's free line if you can bring 20 people with real accounts to vote on a day you do not choose. Pick LaunchScaler's free launch if you would rather earn the link by fixing your site than by gathering votes, and can carry the badge.
How do the two paid shortcuts compare?
Uneed's Skip the line and LaunchScaler's Premium launch both let you choose your day. Skip the line is $29.99 and keeps a dofollow link for life with no minimum score. Premium is $29 one-time, writes the listing for you and removes the badge, but the dofollow link still needs your site to pass the readiness scan.
Uneed also has a middle option with no LaunchScaler equivalent. Its Fast-track at $14.99 assigns a date about 2 weeks out, always stays published, and is dofollow from an upvote score of 10 (nofollow below). A Relaunch at $15 gives an existing Uneed product a second launch day when something significant has changed.
What the paid LaunchScaler launch adds is the writing and the permanence: the Premium listing is written for you from your own scan, puts nothing on your site because paying skips the badge, and stays in the permanent curated index after its standing decays. What it does not add is a guaranteed link. The pricing page is plain about it: "The followed link still needs a pass." The guide to whether a skip-the-line launch is worth it weighs paying for a date against waiting.
Uneed Public Review vs LaunchScaler Review article
Both sell a written review of your product. Uneed's Public Review is $147: a blog post about Uneed's test of your product, targeting "[your_product] review" on search engines. LaunchScaler's Review article is $59, one time, ordered against a product you have claimed.
The LaunchScaler Review article is one permanent indexed page written by an editor, carrying 3 links back to your site, with a slot in the weekly newsletter, a share to the community feed and a Featured badge on your listing for the launch week. Every commissioned piece is labelled as such, on the blog and everywhere it appears. The guide to getting your product reviewed covers what to prepare for either one.
What does each platform check before listing you?
Uneed moderates free submissions and can decline them, most often because they fall into a category it already receives dozens of every week; paid launches are never declined. To start a submission you need no account: its robots collect information from your page, then you sign up to save and complete it.
LaunchScaler checks the site itself. Before a listing goes live it runs a 156-check readiness scan across search, AI visibility, security, compliance, speed and visual, and whether the site works, with no account needed. The listing is built from your site, and the scan result decides whether the listing's link is followed. The guide to launch platforms that give a dofollow backlink compares how every major platform decides that.
What else does Uneed sell?
Uneed's pricing page lists more than launches. It also sells a Uneed Pro membership (private Discord, a +3 vote multiplier, 1 free relaunch a month) and these advertising products, as shown in September 2026:

Which fits your launch?
Choose by what you can supply. If you can supply votes and time, Uneed's free line costs nothing and can end in a dofollow link at a score of 20. If you can supply a working, well-built site, LaunchScaler's free launch keeps the listing whatever the votes, and the scan decides the link. If you can supply about $30, both platforms sell you the date.
Your situation
Better fit
You need a fixed date and a guaranteed followed link
Uneed Skip the line
You need a fixed date and want the listing written for you, with no badge
LaunchScaler Premium
You can wait and bring 20 voters
Uneed free line
You can wait and would rather earn the link by passing a site scan
LaunchScaler free launch
You want a date about 2 weeks out for less
Uneed Fast-track
Nothing stops you using both on separate days, since both rank on votes and each day needs your attention. The comparison with Product Hunt, BetaList, SaaSCity and Show HN is in best product launch platforms.
Pick your day with Premium
If the date matters and you want the listing written for you, LaunchScaler's Premium launch is $29, paid once. It books any open day, today included, writes your listing from your own scan, and puts nothing on your site because paying skips the badge. The listing stays in the permanent curated index after its standing decays, and the dofollow link still needs your site to pass the readiness scan. Get Premium, or choose the free launch on the same page if the queue fits your plan.
Uneed assigns free launches a date between 30 days and 5 months out. Fast-track assigns a date about 2 weeks out, and Skip the line lets you pick the exact date.
03
Does Uneed give a dofollow backlink?
On the free line, only if your product reaches an upvote score of 20 on launch day; from 10 to 19 the link is nofollow, and below 10 the product goes back to your dashboard. Skip the line keeps a dofollow link for life with no minimum score.
04
What is the difference between LaunchScaler and Uneed?
Both run daily voted launches with a free queue and a paid date. Uneed ties the free listing and its dofollow link to your upvote score, while LaunchScaler keeps the listing permanently and ties its one dofollow link to your site passing a 156-check readiness scan.

Product Hunt features launches that are useful, novel, high craft or creative, and skips waitlists, templates and services. Check yours, then relaunch.
